  • August revenue NT$921.77 billion, up 51.98%
  • Second-highest month ever, behind July
  • Company says Q3 should beat market expectations
  • Cloud and networking was 51% of Q2 revenue

Hon Hai Precision Industry (HNHPF), better known as Foxconn, just had its second-best sales month ever. August revenue was up 52% from a year ago, and the company says the current quarter should beat what the market expects. Hon Hai builds AI servers for Nvidia (NVDA) and its customers. Its cloud and networking division, which includes AI servers, accounted for 51% of second-quarter revenue.

The company reported August revenue of NT$921.77 billion, about $29.1 billion, on Saturday, September 5. That's up 51.98% from NT$606.51 billion in August 2025, Focus Taiwan reported. Only July was higher, at NT$946.51 billion. Revenue for the first eight months of 2026 came to NT$6.51 trillion, up 39.73%.

The company said its cloud and networking division "enjoyed significant year-on-year revenue growth amid accelerating AI momentum," according to Focus Taiwan. Smart consumer electronics also grew from a year earlier, which the company attributed to inventory rebuilding ahead of new product launches and higher shipment prices. Components and computing products both grew. Compared with July, cloud and networking and components rose, while smart consumer electronics and computing products fell.

Hon Hai also gave an upbeat outlook for the quarter. It said "visibility for the quarter has improved compared to the previous month, with overall performance anticipated to exceed market expectations," RTTNews reported, citing the company's statement. It pointed to growing AI demand and the third quarter's role as the traditional peak season for the information and communications industry, and added that it'll keep an eye on what it called a volatile global political and economic environment.

July revenue grew 54% from a year earlier and August grew 52%. Analysts were looking for about 37% growth for the three months through September, Bloomberg reported. Two of the quarter's three months are now in, both well above that number. September still decides the final result, and a weak month would pull the quarterly figure down.

What did Hon Hai say about AI servers in August?

At its second-quarter results on August 12, Hon Hai said cloud and networking products made up 51% of revenue in the quarter, the first time the segment has passed half, Yahoo Taiwan reported. Smart consumer electronics, which includes iPhone assembly for Apple, was 29%, computing products 15% and components 5%.

Second-quarter revenue was NT$2.53 trillion, up 41% from a year earlier, with net profit of NT$60 billion and earnings per share of NT$4.27, both records for the period, according to a summary of the call by Anue. For the third quarter the company guided to high double-digit growth in AI rack shipments both from the second quarter and from a year earlier, and said a new generation of racks would enter mass production in the quarter. It didn't name the chips inside them. For the full year, it kept its forecast of, in the wording of the Anue summary, "multiple times or above growth" in AI rack shipments, and didn't give a unit number.

Hon Hai shares closed at NT$256 in Taipei on Friday, September 4, up 3.43%, before the August figures were released. The company reports monthly sales around the fifth of each month, so September's number is due in early October and third-quarter results in mid-November.
