Frequently asked questions
Why track insider buying instead of insider selling?
Executives sell their company's stock all the time for reasons that mean nothing: compensation, taxes, diversification, often on prearranged schedules. Open-market buying is different. An insider spending their own cash to buy shares at market price has exactly one motivation, and that's why buys are widely considered the more meaningful signal. They're also rare, which keeps this list short.
What filings does this feed come from?
SEC Form 4 filings, which corporate officers, directors, and 10% owners must file within two business days of a trade. This page shows only transactions coded 'P' (open-market purchase) from companies on the AIStockWire watchlist, refreshed several times a day. Grants, option exercises, and sales are excluded.
Does an insider buying mean the stock will go up?
No. Insiders misjudge their own companies regularly, and a buy can be about signaling confidence as much as expecting gains. This is public disclosure data, not investment advice. It's one input worth knowing about, best read alongside the rest of a company's filings.
