Key points
- 93 US-listed stocks trade under $10 with a market cap above $1 billion and 5 million shares a day of volume.
- The two biggest are banks worth about $90 billion each, Lloyds Banking Group (LYG) at $6.27 and Itau Unibanco (ITUB) at $7.95.
- A low share price says nothing about size. BigBear.ai (BBAI) costs more per share than AmBev (ABEV), and AmBev is 30 times larger.
Plenty of public companies have a stock that trades under $10, and that does not make them small companies. The biggest one is a bank worth about $90 billion. Lloyds Banking Group (LYG) closed at $6.27 on August 7, 2026, and Brazil's Itau Unibanco (ITUB) closed at $7.95 the same day at almost exactly the same size.
These are the ten largest companies whose shares cost less than $10.
| Company | Price | Market cap |
|---|---|---|
| Itau Unibanco (ITUB) | $7.95 | $90.8B |
| Lloyds Banking Group (LYG) | $6.27 | $90.1B |
| Nokia (NOK) | $9.37 | $52.5B |
| AmBev (ABEV) | $3.01 | $46.7B |
| Banco Bradesco (BBD) | $3.37 | $34.6B |
| Nomura (NMR) | $9.96 | $28.8B |
| Banco Santander Brasil (BSBR) | $5.81 | $21.4B |
| Stellantis (STLA) | $5.51 | $20.8B |
| Wipro (WIT) | $2.02 | $19.4B |
| Sabesp (SBS) | $5.31 | $18.5B |
Not one of those ten is a US company. Five of them are Brazilian, and the order at the very top moves depending on whose data you use, because market caps for foreign companies with US-listed receipts are calculated differently from one provider to the next.
What a low share price tells you
Nothing about the size of the company.
A share price is the market value divided by the share count, and companies choose their share count. AmBev has 15.9 billion shares outstanding, so a $46.7 billion company prices at $3.01. BigBear.ai (BBAI) has 505 million shares, so a $1.57 billion company prices at $3.27. The more expensive stock is the one that is 30 times smaller.
Nokia and Mobileye (MBLY) make the same point 63 cents apart. Nokia closed at $9.37 and Mobileye at $8.74, and Nokia is worth seven times more, because Nokia has 5.89 billion shares outstanding against Mobileye's 886 million.
This is also why a company can halve its share price by doubling its share count, and why a reverse split does the same thing in the other direction. Swapping fifteen old shares for one new one lifts the quoted price fifteenfold on the day. The company is the same one it was the day before.
The screen
Set the floor at $1 billion of market value and 5 million shares of daily volume, and 93 US-listed stocks under $10 clear it. Drop those floors to $300 million and 500,000 shares and the list grows to 397, with the extra names running heavily to clinical-stage biotech.
The floors are deliberately blunt. No earnings screen, no valuation screen, and no judgment about whether any of these businesses is any good. The table above ignores the volume floor entirely, since being the largest company under $10 is a question about size rather than about how easily you can trade it.
The names in the tradeable band
78 of the 93 sit between $1 billion and $10 billion. That is the band retail traders actually shop in, and it holds most of the AI and drone names. These 17 are a sample of it.
| Company | Price | Market cap |
|---|---|---|
| Snap (SNAP) | $5.32 | $9.01B |
| Joby Aviation (JOBY) | $8.64 | $8.55B |
| Mobileye (MBLY) | $8.74 | $7.42B |
| Lumen Technologies (LUMN) | $6.25 | $6.44B |
| Transocean (RIG) | $5.26 | $5.82B |
| BlackBerry (BB) | $8.99 | $5.24B |
| Ondas (ONDS) | $9.11 | $5.19B |
| Archer Aviation (ACHR) | $5.59 | $4.26B |
| NuScale Power (SMR) | $9.83 | $4.03B |
| QuantumScape (QS) | $6.08 | $3.74B |
| SoundHound AI (SOUN) | $8.01 | $3.49B |
| Opendoor (OPEN) | $3.49 | $3.36B |
| Plug Power (PLUG) | $2.19 | $3.04B |
| Quantum Computing (QUBT) | $9.18 | $2.07B |
| BigBear.ai (BBAI) | $3.27 | $1.57B |
| POET Technologies (POET) | $8.91 | $1.54B |
| Red Cat (RCAT) | $9.20 | $1.40B |
Several sit within a few percent of the ceiling and will drop off the list on any decent week. NuScale at $9.83, Red Cat at $9.20, Quantum Computing at $9.18 and Ondas at $9.11 are all one move away from being stocks over $10.
Six AI models each run a $10,000 portfolio of five stocks under $10 billion in market cap in our weekly stock battle, rebalanced every Saturday. Every company in the table above sits inside that limit.
Three names readers expect to find here have moved out of range. Rigetti (RGTI) closed at $17.93 and D-Wave Quantum (QBTS) at $20.76, and neither has traded in single digits at any point in the past year. Intuitive Machines (LUNR) has, at $7.78 last November, though it finished at $16.40.
What the screen cannot see
A price filter has no opinion about share count, and share count is what turns a cheap-looking stock into a trap. Ondas is in the table above and went from 137 million shares to 496 million in a year. Plug Power carries 1.4 billion shares outstanding, which is most of the reason a $3.04 billion company quotes at $2.19.
Neither of those facts shows up in a price. Both change what a share is worth. Before treating anything on this page as cheap, the share count history is the first thing to pull, and it is free on any filing page.
Prices are the August 7, 2026 closes. Market caps come from a single screening source so the ranking stays internally consistent, and they will not match every quote page to the dollar. The screen is rerun monthly.
