Sivers Semiconductors (SIVE in Stockholm, SIVEF in the US) is hiring a new wireless chief and a new photonics engineering leader as photonics CTO Andrew McKee, a co-founder of CST Global, prepares to retire. The Swedish chipmaker announced the changes Thursday morning. Its Stockholm shares closed little changed at SEK 32.78 on Thursday, against Wednesday's SEK 32.80.

CEO Vickram Vathulya said the changes are intended to turn the company's technology and products into commercial growth.
The photonics change
McKee co-founded CST Global, the Scottish laser maker Sivers bought in 2017. He will support the handover to Clark through the end of 2026. Clark spent more than 12 years at Amkor Technology, where he worked on bringing advanced packaging technologies to market and ramping their production, according to the release.
The handover comes as Sivers expands its Glasgow laser fab. The company is spending $30 million there to reach more than 100 million continuous-wave DFB lasers a year, with that rate targeted for the fourth quarter of 2027, as we reported on September 4.
The wireless change
Pegulu has more than 25 years of experience in RF, wireless and mixed-signal product businesses, and the release credits him with "delivering profitable growth" in them. Sivers' wireless segment reported EBITDA of negative SEK 38.4 million in the second quarter, compared with negative SEK 28.3 million for photonics, according to the company's interim report. Both are reported rather than adjusted figures. We broke down the quarter in September.
Krishnaswamy, who co-founded MixComm before Sivers acquired it in 2022, moves to chief strategy officer. His new role covers corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and new business initiatives.
