Reported fundamentals
There is no stock score on this page. The score is computed from audited XBRL filings on SEC EDGAR and includes a 20-point insider component built from Form 4s, and a Korean company files neither, so a grade here would be measuring something different from the same letter on a US hub. These are the reported figures instead.

What Samsung Electro-Mechanics does
Samsung Electro-Mechanics makes components rather than chips. Two of its product lines matter for AI hardware: flip-chip ball grid array substrates, which are the engineered boards a processor is mounted on and which carry signals between the chip and everything around it, and multilayer ceramic capacitors, which regulate power delivery and are used in the thousands on a server board.
Substrates for AI accelerators are the growth story. They are harder to build than the substrates a phone chip needs, with more layers and tighter tolerances, and supply has been tight enough that customers have signed up capacity in advance. The rest of the business still sells into phones and cars, so the ordinary consumer electronics cycle continues to show up in the numbers alongside the server demand.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics is run by Jang Duck-hyun (장덕현), President and CEO, since March 2022.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics has no US listing. Buying the shares means buying the Seoul line, which most US brokerage accounts cannot do directly.

SK Hynix stock costs $1,248 a share in Korea. Will it follow Samsung with a split?
SK Hynix (SKHY) shares closed at 1.73 million won ($1,248) on Friday. Chairman Chey Tae-won says he would consider a split if enough people ask, though the company's own CEO has downplayed the idea.

Korea's young and old borrowed to chase stocks. Then the market fell 43.9%, and they started missing payments.
Data the Financial Supervisory Service prepared for a lawmaker on August 9 shows 63% of the money borrowed against Korea's five most valuable stocks belongs to investors 60 and over. The two age groups now falling behind on their bank loans are the youngest borrowers and the oldest.

Korea's small investors absorbed the whole crash. On Thursday they gave up and sold 1.43 trillion won.
For two weeks Korea's individual investors bought whatever foreign funds sold. On July 30 the roles reversed. Foreigners came back for the first time in five sessions, retail sold 1.43 trillion won into them, and forced liquidations at brokerages rose 340% in a single day.

Samsung Electronics signed a memorandum with Broadcom on July 24 covering more than $200 billion of work over five years, through 2030. Broadcom has had TSMC make its chips since 1994, and about 95% of the wafers it outsourced last year came from there. Samsung's foundry holds 6.5% of the world market against TSMC's 72%, and Seoul had closed for the week before any of it was announced.

Frequently asked questions
What is Samsung Electro-Mechanics's stock code?
Samsung Electro-Mechanics trades on the KOSPI in Seoul under the code 009150. Data providers usually write it as 009150.KS. The company has no US listing, so the Seoul line is the only place the shares trade.
Why is Samsung Electro-Mechanics an AI stock?
Samsung Electro-Mechanics makes components rather than chips. Two of its product lines matter for AI hardware: flip-chip ball grid array substrates, which are the engineered boards a processor is mounted on and which carry signals between the chip and everything around it, and multilayer ceramic capacitors, which regulate power delivery and are used in the thousands on a server board.
What do analysts expect for Samsung Electro-Mechanics?
27 analysts covering Samsung Electro-Mechanics have an average price target of ₩2,364,074 (about $1,761), which is +68.9% against the last close. Coverage of Korean listings is overwhelmingly domestic, so these are Korean brokerage estimates rather than the US sell-side names that cover an American chip stock.
Does Samsung Electro-Mechanics file with the SEC?
No. Samsung Electro-Mechanics is a Korean company listed in Seoul, so it reports to the Korea Exchange and the Financial Supervisory Service, not the SEC. That is why this page has no filings, Form 4 insider or congressional trading sections: those are built from EDGAR, which has nothing on a company that does not file there.
