CoreWeave (CRWV) crushed earnings and Cramer's IREN call aged well. Nebius (NBIS) reports tomorrow

CoreWeave crushed its quarter and jumped about 15% after hours, five days after Jim Cramer told a caller to buy CRWV over IREN and called it cheaper and better. The backlog hit $104 billion. Nebius (NBIS) reports Wednesday morning, and it's the next test for the whole neocloud trade.

I let Claude AI trade $100 on Robinhood week 8: its first winning trade was worth $1.87

After seven straight losses, Claude AI finally booked a winning trade. It sold most of a SoundHound (SOUN) position into a rally for one dollar and eighty-seven cents, then bought a quiet chip stock, Navitas (NVTS), on its own read. The account is still down about 32%.

Riot Platforms (RIOT) postponed its earnings call. Six days later it announced a $9.1 billion AI lease

Riot pulled its August 5 call with no reason and no date, and the stock got punished for it. The rescheduled call landed a 20-year, 191 MW Rockdale lease with an unnamed frontier AI lab worth $9.1 billion, on interconnection Texas already approved before it froze the queue.

Toshiba sold into day one and lost the largest shareholder spot. What the pace and the September guide say for SanDisk (SNDK) and Micron (MU).

Explainers

Max your 401k match, Roth IRA and HSA before you touch a single stock. Index funds come next, individual stocks come last.

The order I'd actually go in: 401k match, then Roth IRA and HSA, then a broad index fund (or X Money if you want zero market risk), then mega-caps and dividend ETFs, then single stocks last.

Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI) did a double beat and guided up 42%. Why did the stock tank to $115 before clawing back?

AAOI did a double beat and guided Q3 up 42%. After the report the stock spiked to $142, tanked to $115, then clawed back to around $125. I own it, I'm holding, and here's why I think next week is the real move.

Ondas (ONDS) is up 16% this week on three straight wins, and the loudest trading day wasn't the biggest price move.

Ondas jumped 12% the day David Barnea joined, then posted its loudest volume of the week on the Army order without much price movement at all. I own ONDS at $9, and here's the honest math on backlog, dilution and what August 13 needs to show.

I let Claude AI trade $100 on Robinhood, week 7: It wrote a longer risk memo than the trade was worth

Claude AI ran five-minute bars on four stocks, caught an earnings call that had been quietly postponed, computed a risk-reward ratio and wrote a memo against its own trade. Then it bought four shares of a battery company and went red in twenty minutes.

Musk says memory demand grows 200% a year against 20% supply. The new Micron (MU) and SK Hynix (SKHY) plants open in 2027 and 2028

Elon Musk did the memory math out loud on SpaceX's call: supply up 20% a year, demand up 200%. Microsoft put $25 billion of its capex on memory and Amazon named it too. The plants that would fix it open in 2027 and 2028.

The FCC may ban Chinese optical transceivers. Photonics stocks exploded, and Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI) has run nearly 70% in four sessions.

Reuters says the FCC is drafting a rule that would ban imports of all new optical transceiver models, then exempt many non-Chinese suppliers. The photonics group repriced on it Tuesday morning, and AAOI, down 66% since May, ran the hardest.

The Nasdaq just erased six red days in three. It's only done that once before.

The Nasdaq closed at 25,913.90 on Monday, up 2.13% and green for a third day running. Those three days added 6.02% and wiped out the 5.4% lost during the six red days that ended July 29. Since 1971 the Nasdaq has gone six down then three up 35 times, and day four came back green in only 11 of the 34 finished cases.

The Nasdaq fell six days straight, then chips ripped. Microsoft, Samsung, and Citadel buying out Aschenbrenner all landed inside 18 hours.

The Nasdaq's six-day losing streak ended at exactly six, which our own history piece said was the single most likely outcome. Microsoft's $678 billion backlog, Samsung's call that the chip crunch runs to 2028, and Citadel buying the bulk of a leveraged $24 billion book all arrived between Wednesday's close and Thursday afternoon.

Microsoft (MSFT) grew Azure 43% with $678 billion already booked. That is what Nvidia (NVDA) and Micron (MU) needed to hear.

Microsoft held its capital spending outlook near $190 billion, grew Azure 43% and rose 7.6% after hours. Meta raised its capex range by $10 billion at the low end, missed on earnings at $6.18 against a $7.14 estimate, and fell 9.0%. The market stopped scoring hyperscalers on capex announcements and started scoring them on whether the revenue arrives. That is a better setup for Nvidia, Broadcom and Taiwan Semiconductor than another spending headline, though it does nothing about the memory supply problem that actually caused July.

SK Hynix (SKHY) missed consensus by 5.5%. I sat through the call and I'm still holding

I was signed into the SK Hynix earnings call last night, watching SKHY drop and trying to figure out why. The company came in 5.5% under estimates on the best quarter it has ever had, but the margin held at 76% and the shortfall was HBM4 shipments sliding into the second half. Seoul took the stock down 19.6% intraday. I own SKHY at $154 and I'm not selling this one.

I was sure Citadel's rate call knocked the Nasdaq down 2% Tuesday morning. Nvidia (NVDA) was green while Micron (MU) fell 7.69% and the 2-year yield never moved, so it was not the Fed at all. It was Seoul. Here is the split that actually matters at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
