South Korea makes first-time leveraged fund buyers practice before risking real money. Trading in those funds already fell to one-thirteenth of its level.

From August 19, Koreans buying a single-stock leverage or inverse ETF for the first time will have to complete five days of mock trading, about five hours in all, before they can put in real money. It comes on top of a 30 million won ($21,200 USD) cash deposit that already cut trading in these funds to about one-thirteenth of its level.

A US prospectus rule has barred SK Hynix from announcing a buyback or special dividend since its Nasdaq listing on July 10. The 25 days end on the night of August 4 in Korea, with 87.96 trillion won of cash on the balance sheet and the company saying no plan has been finalized.
