I let Claude AI trade $100 on Robinhood week 9: it wrote down why indie Semiconductor (INDI) was a bad buy, then bought it
Claude AI flagged the indie Semiconductor (INDI) setup as the shape of most of its past losses, bought it anyway, and was stopped out 23 hours later. Both stops fired within two seconds of Tuesday's open as chip stocks sold off. The account is down about a third.

About $25 billion of Microsoft's (MSFT) AI budget is memory getting more expensive. Wednesday says whether that grew.
Microsoft told investors in April it would spend about $190 billion on capital projects this year. Around $25 billion of that increase bought nothing new, it was the same buildout at a higher price after memory costs rose. Microsoft reports Wednesday after the close, two hours after the Fed decision.

The Close, July 14: IBM lost a quarter of its value, and SK Hynix's Nasdaq stock jumped 27%
IBM lost about a quarter of its value in a single session after a weak preliminary report, and the damage spread across enterprise software. SK Hynix's brand-new Nasdaq stock went the other way, jumping 27% on a day chips broadly rallied.

Inflation fell for the first time since 2020, the Kospi closed green, and IBM still crashed 23% (July 14, 2026)
June CPI fell 0.4%, the first monthly decline since 2020, and chips bounced. Then IBM missed on preliminary results, lost roughly 23%, and dragged Workday, ServiceNow and Adobe down with it. CleanSpark jumped 8% on a $6.6 billion AI data center lease, and the Kospi closed green before the CPI number even existed.

Chips got smoked today. Tomorrow's CPI report at 8:30am decides what happens next.
Arm, Coherent, Micron, AMD and Nvidia fell between 3.5% and 7.5% Monday while Microsoft, Apple and Amazon finished green. The selling stayed inside crowded AI infrastructure names. Tuesday's 8:30am CPI report could send the same stocks sharply either way, and the real risk isn't even in the data yet.

Inside the AI hardware stack, from Nvidia's chips to the grid that powers them
An AI data center is seven layers of hardware: GPUs, memory, storage, CPUs, networking, manufacturing, and power. Here's the full map, with the public companies behind each layer and where the bottlenecks actually are.

Micron (MU), Nebius (NBIS) and chip stocks jump on Hyperliquid's weekend tape
Real markets are closed for July 4th, but tech and chip stocks are trading green right now on Hyperliquid's 24/7 stock perpetuals. Micron, Marvell and Nebius lead the bounce, and the S&P 500 and Nasdaq perpetuals are up too. Here is the full read, and why Monday could look nothing like this.

Chips had their third worst day of 2026 and the S&P barely noticed (MU, INTC)
The S&P 500 closed within a whisker of flat on July 1 and the chip trade still had its third worst day of the year. Micron fell 10.5 percent, Intel lost 9 percent, and Meta gained almost 9 percent on the other side. Here is the damage report.

AI's quiet winners: ASML, AMD and Vertiv VRT lead at the June 30, 2026 open
On the last trading day of the first half, the AI suppliers led again. ASML, Arm (ARM) and Vertiv (VRT) each rose about 4%, while Micron (MU) is up roughly 300% in 2026.

Today's AI rotation map: out of the chips, into software, power and the frontier
A snapshot of Monday's rotation: as the AI build-out sold off, money moved into software (ServiceNow, Adobe), AI power (GE Vernova), quantum, space and cyber. A one-day picture that can flip fast.

It is not just the chips: optics, memory and the neo-clouds all sold off this morning
The whole AI build-out sold off Monday morning, not just semiconductors. Optical names like Coherent (COHR) led the drop, memory (MU) and the neo-clouds fell hard, and Nebius (NBIS) was the lone holdout. What is going on.

The AI stock map: every layer of the trade, from sand to software
A top-to-bottom deep dive on the AI supply chain, from the machines that make the chips down to the hyperscalers writing the checks, and how every layer pushes and pulls on the others.
