Nine Aschenbrenner stocks report earnings Aug. 4 to 6, led by SanDisk (SNDK). Nobody can say which six are still his.

Nine Aschenbrenner stocks report earnings Aug. 4 to 6, led by SanDisk (SNDK). Nobody can say which six are still his.

Key points

  • Nine stocks tied to Leopold Aschenbrenner's Situational Awareness report earnings Aug. 4 to Aug. 6, led by SanDisk (SNDK).
  • Six were in the fund on March 31. Citadel bought the public book July 30, and the filings so far stay silent on which names moved.
  • The fund disclosed 19.9% of SharonAI (SHAZ), a stake worth about $260M. SHAZ reports Aug. 6.
  • Hut 8 (HUT) is up 129% since the quarter it left the portfolio.

I was going through our earnings calendar for next week and kept seeing companies that I'm familiar with. Then I realized that nine of the companies reporting between Tuesday and Thursday have turned up in Leopold Aschenbrenner's Situational Awareness filings at some point this year.

What makes the timing fun is where it lands. Citadel bought the fund's public stock book on July 30, six days before most of these companies open their quarters.

CNBC's David Faber reported that trade Thursday morning. The fund sold its public equities portfolio in one block to Ken Griffin's firm, with the short positions included. We went through which filings will name the buyer the same day.

Aschenbrenner's own letter to his partners describes something narrower. He calls it "a portion of our public portfolio," traded "to remove all leverage from the fund, and prevent further losses." He says the firm still runs "a fully-paid-for public book (long stock and long fully-paid-for options, with no margin/liquidation risk)."

So there's still a public book, and the letter names a total of zero things in it. For that, you have to go back to the fund's Form 13F for March 31, filed May 18. That's a four-month-old document heading into an earnings week.

Which of these stocks report next week?

Six of the nine were standalone holdings in that March 31 filing. The price column runs from the March 31 close to Friday's close.

CompanyReportsPosition, last disclosedSince Mar. 31
SanDisk (SNDK)Aug. 5, after close$724.4 million (Mar. 31 13F)+91.2%
SharonAI (SHAZ)Aug. 6, after closeAbout $260.5 million (July 2 Form 4 share count, at Friday's close)+112.4%
Riot Platforms (RIOT)Aug. 5, before open$142.2 million (Mar. 31 13F)+63.3%
CleanSpark (CLSK)Aug. 6, after close$104.5 million (Mar. 31 13F)+61.5%
Solaris Energy Infrastructure (SEI)Aug. 5, after close$62.5 million (Mar. 31 13F)-9.0%
Power Solutions International (PSIX)Aug. 6, after close$26.3 million (Mar. 31 13F)-54.6%

Two of the six have fallen since March. Power Solutions International is down 54.6 percent, Solaris Energy Infrastructure down 9.0 percent, and a 91.2 percent gain from SanDisk over the same stretch.

March 31 also happens to be a low for most of these names. Cipher Mining closed at $12.87 that day after opening at $16.08 four sessions earlier, so every gain in these tables starts from a weak base.

How big was the SharonAI stake?

This is the one where the 13F will mislead you, and it's worth seeing exactly how.

Open the March 31 information table, and SharonAI sits near the bottom at 796,108 shares worth $18.1 million. On that page, it looks like a rounding error next to Bloom Energy at $878.7 million.

Then pull the Schedule 13G with an event date of June 22. It reports 19.9 percent of the company. A Form 4 filed July 2 fills in the rest: 5,396,127 shares, after the fund exercised 3,700,000 warrants, plus warrants for 2,674,823 more.

SharonAI closed Friday at $48.28, so that July share count is worth about $260.5 million against a market capitalization of $1.70 billion. There are 35,183,961 shares outstanding, which puts the common stock alone at 15.3 percent of the company. The 19.9 percent headline counts the warrants too, and it sits just under a 19.99 percent ownership cap written into them.

That's the same fund and the same company across two filings four months apart, and the position looks twelve times bigger in one than the other. If you want the mechanics of why a 13F does this, we wrote a full explainer on what the form covers.

SharonAI runs GPU cloud computing out of New York. It's a young company, founded in December 2024, and it employs 30 people. The stock traded at $1.00 a year ago and touched $97.48 on June 17. We dug into what the company actually does in June.

Its next Form 4 is due Aug. 3, and it's reporting earnings three days after that.

Which ones did he already sell?

Three more companies reporting Tuesday sat in the fund on Dec. 31 and had left by March 31. Those exits happened months before Citadel entered the picture.

CompanyReportsDec. 31 valueSince Mar. 31
Hut 8 (HUT)Aug. 4, before open$39.5 million+129.3%
Cipher Mining (CIFR)Aug. 4, before open$154.5 million+73.5%
Tower Semiconductor (TSEM)Aug. 4, before open$84.9 million+25.1%

Five other positions left the book that same quarter and report at other times. The largest were Lumentum at $478.6 million and EQT at $170.6 million, followed by Coherent, Kilroy Realty and Liberty Energy.

What the filing calendar settles

Three dates ahead carry real information, and they all land this month.

DateFilingWhat it shows
Aug. 3Form 4Any change to the SharonAI stake, the fund's largest disclosed position in a single company
Aug. 6Schedule 13D or 13GDue within five business days of a buyer crossing 5 percent of a company
Aug. 14Form 13FThe fund's June 30 positions, covering a book it has since traded

Here's the catch with that last one, and it's the reason this stays open a while. The Aug. 14 filing describes June 30, and the block trade happened July 30. A current picture of the fund would have to wait for the September quarter, which publishes in November.

So next week's reports land in a gap. These nine companies will post numbers while the ownership question sits open, and we're tracking the full 19-stock book as the filings come in.

Frequently asked questions

Which Aschenbrenner stocks report earnings the week of Aug. 3, 2026?

Nine. On Aug. 4 before the open, Hut 8 (HUT), Cipher Mining (CIFR) and Tower Semiconductor (TSEM). On Aug. 5, Riot Platforms (RIOT) before the open, then SanDisk (SNDK) and Solaris Energy Infrastructure (SEI) after the close. On Aug. 6 after the close, CleanSpark (CLSK), SharonAI (SHAZ) and Power Solutions International (PSIX).

How much of SharonAI did Situational Awareness own?

19.9%, per a Schedule 13G with an event date of June 22, 2026. That figure is beneficial ownership, so it's counting common stock plus warrants, capped by a 19.99% beneficial ownership limitation. A Form 4 filed July 2 shows 5,396,127 common shares after the fund exercised 3,700,000 warrants, plus warrants for 2,674,823 more. Against 35,183,961 shares outstanding, the common stock alone is 15.3% of the company and it was worth about $260.5 million at the July 31, 2026 close of $48.28.

Does Situational Awareness still own these stocks?

That stays an open question for the six that appear in the March 31, 2026 filing. Citadel bought the fund's public book in a block trade on July 30, 2026, and the filings published so far stay silent on which positions were included. Leopold Aschenbrenner's letter to partners describes the trade as covering a portion of the public portfolio and says the fund still manages a fully paid public book, though it lists no holdings. The next itemized disclosure is the Form 13F due Aug. 14, which covers June 30 positions.

What did Situational Awareness sell to Citadel?

CNBC's David Faber reported on July 30, 2026 that the fund sold its public equities portfolio in one block, short positions included, to Ken Griffin's Citadel. Aschenbrenner's letter describes it as a portion of the public portfolio, traded to remove all leverage and close all shorts. CNBC's own two video headlines that day split between entire book of public investments and levered book of public investments. The price Citadel paid remains unreported.

Why does the 13F understate the SharonAI position?

A Form 13F is a snapshot of one date, and it's the least current filing a manager produces. The March 31, 2026 filing lists SharonAI (SHAZ) at 796,108 shares worth $18.1 million. The fund then exercised warrants, and the Form 4 filed July 2 shows 5,396,127 shares. Reading the 13F alone understates the position by about twelve times and places it among the fund's smallest holdings instead of its largest.

Which stocks did Situational Awareness sell before the Citadel trade?

Eight positions appear in the Dec. 31, 2025 Form 13F and are absent from the March 31, 2026 filing: Lumentum at $478.6 million, EQT at $170.6 million, Cipher Mining (CIFR) at $154.5 million, Coherent at $88.6 million, Tower Semiconductor (TSEM) at $84.9 million, Kilroy Realty at $49.6 million, Hut 8 (HUT) at $39.5 million and Liberty Energy at $10.5 million. Three of those eight report the week of Aug. 3, 2026.

What is the fund's largest holding?

Nebius (NBIS), which is absent from the March 31, 2026 Form 13F entirely. It was disclosed on a Schedule 13G filed May 27, 2026 covering 12,410,060 Class A shares under sole dispositive power, or 5.6% of Nebius. Positions that stay under 5% of a company generate no filings after the quarter, so for those the 13F is the only public data.
